With the start of a new academic year, we have some exciting news - we are recruiting to the PRIME Committee!

Who do we want?

We’re after trainees who want to be involved in an active research network here in the North West (and being involved would definitely tick some research and management boxes for portfolios / GRID applications!)

What roles are there?

Project coordinators: We require one to two of these and aim to cover several specialities. The role would involve seeking out active research opportunities in different departments, evaluating all project ideas from trainees and consultants and facilitate initiation of projects by connecting trainees with supervisors. Role may be suited best to those with some research experience, and/or those who have worked in several specialities at RMCH.

Website / social media coordinator: This role would be for someone to update the website and our social media channels with opportunities and paediatric research going on in the NW. Role more suited to someone with some tech/media experience but not essential.

Newsletter coordinator: This role would be for someone to take the lead on editing our monthly newsletter and sending it out via our email. Don't worry about not being on top of opportunities and events on-going - we share them regularly in our group. Role more suited to someone with some tech/media experience but not essential.

Education coordinator: Experience over the past few years has shown us that the best way to promote research education opportunities is through the national network and foster regional opportunities with the ChaMP-TRN across in Cheshire and Mersey. This role would suit someone with an active interest in education, and would involve liaising with other teams to organise teaching and social events.

Regional audit coordinator: Fed up with doing some research / audit that can’t have maximum impact because you rotate every 6 months? We are about to expand a successful audit about paediatric obesity from one of our DGHs and plan to expand it regionally as our first pilot for regional audit in the North West. This role will involve leading on the project, recruiting site leads for data collection, liaising with audit leads at each hospital and collation of results for future presentation and publication. This would be a particularly good opportunity if you are interested in paediatric public health or endocrinology, and/or want to gain leadership skills. This role will have support from our co-Chairs as well.

Please get in touch with us (paediatricresearchnw@gmail.com) by 8pm on 23rd October if you'd like to apply for any of the above roles. Happy to answer any questions if you’d like more information about a specific role. Please include a couple of sentences about why you would be good at the role you are applying for.
