Many NW paediatric doctors were invited to present their work at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes in Sheffield this year. Congratulations to Dr Ruba Anis, Dr Sameera Auckburally, Dr James Blackburn, Dr Reem Ghalib, Dr Afreen Mushtaque, and Dr Reena Perchard!
Dr Afreen Mushtaque, a paediatric clinical fellow at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, was recently awarded the second-best oral communication award at the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) 2025 conference held in Sheffield!
Her work was on the Assessment of Fetal Growth Trajectories and Relationships with Early Infant Adiposity at a single site within the UK Pregnancies Better Eating and Activity Trial (UPBEAT) and she was supervised by Dr Reena Perchard (NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer and ST8 GRID Registrar in Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology).
